Arianna Fantin is an Italian costume designer based in Berlin.
She works mostly for drama theater, contemporary dance, newly at the Opera and in visual arts.
Since 2016 she works as freelance costume designer mainly for stage productions, occasionally for indipendent film productions or music bands. She worked for city and state theaters suche as Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, Schauspielhaus Köln, Theater an der Ruhr, Grillo Theater Essen and Teatro Elfo Milano, lately at the Opera de Limoges (FR, 2022); she works as well as for indipendent theater and dance companies in Germany (Laborgras, Collectiv Mal´houba) and abroad (in Italy with Collettivo Rame, Fattoria Vittadini). She designed the costumes for stages such as Radialsystem and Dock 11 in Berlin and worked with various directors, such as Peter Kleinert, Renate Graziadei (Laborgras),Moritz Peters, Chloe Lechat. She worked as costume assistant for the international dance company Sasha Waltz & Guests with costume designer Bernd Skodzig and was costume assistant at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz from 2014 to 2016 where she worked with directors such as Romeo Castellucci, Katie Mitchell, Thomas Ostermeier, Michael Talheimer, Armin Petras, Milo Rau, Falk Richter, Nikolas Stehman. Since 2010 she has been active as a textile artist in the fields of visual contemporary art with several solo exhibitions (for example at Arte Libro Bologna, MLB home Gallery, Fragilecontonuo) and various group exhibitions. She participate actively since 2015 at the activities around collective art and life practices at Fondazione Lac o le mon (S. Cesario, Lecce, IT). She has a strong commitment to textile arts and crafts techniques and was assistant of the designer Maike Dietrich for the handknit fashion label Maiami, based in Berlin.
